Fall really is such a gorgeous time of year. The colors, the temperatures (if you’re lucky!) and the clothes just bring out a hygge, comfortable feeling.
It’s never too early to start discussing the wonders of fall with your toddler!
One of our favorite ways to do this is through reading books. If you are lucky enough to live somewhere with beautiful fall weather, you can go on matching adventures. For example, you can read about finding different types of leaves… and then go on a leaf hunt!

Here are 10 of the best festive toddler books about fall:

Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson
My number one favorite book for fall is Room on the Broom.
It’s funny, creative and wildly entertaining. We keep this book out year round in our book rotation because my toddler is OBSESSED. The witch goes on an adventure with her cat and makes more animal friends while searching for missing items in the storm. There’s even a dragon appearance and the witch and her friends have to figure out how to thwart him.
This really is a clever book and my number 1 recommendation. I really appreciate toddler friendly books that are entertaining for me, the adult, to read as well!
Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger
Another classic fall book for toddlers is Going on a Leaf Hunt.
This one teaches your toddler about the concepts of around, through, over, across, etc. It also walks through some typical types of leaves you may find if you venture out on a leaf hunt of your own!
